New Venture Capital Firm Halo Capital Enters Digital Asset Market

In a recent development, Daniel Howard, son of Alan Howard (founder of Brevan Howard Management), has launched a new venture capital firm named Halo Capital. The firm is poised to make its mark in the digital assets sector, focusing on early-stage crypto projects.

Halo Capital prides itself on a research and data-driven approach, aiming to take a differentiated approach in the competitive crypto landscape. The fund, launched with an inaugural $25 million, aims to bring the mindset of growth investors to early-stage crypto projects.

The firm has already made significant investments, including a $2.5 million seed round in Bitcoin-based stablecoin issuer Bima Labs in July. Halo Capital has also invested in Andrena, a Solana-based decentralized physical infrastructure network that recently raised $18 million.

The partners of Halo Capital boast diverse backgrounds, with a mix of company founders and research experts. The names of the partners are currently being kept private.

Bhavin Vaid, a partner at Halo Capital, brings a wealth of experience to the table, having worked at Goldman Sachs Group and Cerberus Capital Management before joining the crypto industry. Vaid also worked with Howard at 10T Holdings.

Prior to joining the crypto industry, Daniel Howard spent most of his career in computer science and artificial intelligence. Howard stated that Halo Capital aims to be a value-added investor in the space, with a focus on being a generalist fund across the entire crypto ecosystem.

The fundraising for the inaugural fund began in March, and Halo Capital officially launched in June. As the firm continues to grow and invest in the digital assets space, it will be interesting to see the impact it has on the rapidly evolving crypto landscape.
