UAE Leads Global Gender Gap as It Embraces AI for Equality
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been actively promoting gender equality and women's empowerment. At the recent 10th UN Global Forum on Gender Statistics held in Georgia, the UAE presented its 'Mother of the Nation 50:50 Vision' and discussed the importance of gender data for policy planning and sustainable development.
The forum, themed 'Driving Change with Gender Statistics: A Path to Equality', emphasized the need to address violence against women and girls and overcome gender stereotypes. Participants discussed issues related to gender equality, well-being, and women's empowerment.
The UAE, the first Gulf country to launch a national strategy for women's empowerment, is now enhancing its monitoring system with artificial intelligence technologies. It uses the Women's Progress Monitoring System to track gender progress and predict challenges proactively. The UAE leads 31 global gender balance indicators and ranks first regionally in the 2025 Gender Gap Index.
The UAE's commitment to gender equality is evident in its leadership in global gender balance indicators and its active participation in international forums. By leveraging artificial intelligence and prioritizing gender data, the UAE aims to drive change and achieve equality.
