Uber Joins Forces with Flytrex for the Launch of Aerial Food Delivery Services

Uber Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: UBER) has announced a strategic partnership and investment with Flytrex, Inc., the leading autonomous drone doordash. This collaboration aims to reshape how food, convenience items, and other essentials move through cities, enabling consumers to receive orders in minutes while reducing congestion and emissions.

Flytrex, one of only four drone delivery providers authorized by the FAA for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations, brings technology and operational expertise to Uber. The partnership marks Uber's first step into autonomous aerial logistics.

Sarfraz Maredia, President of Autonomous Mobility and Delivery at Uber, stated that the partnership will reshape urban logistics, expanding beyond cars, bikes, and couriers to sidewalk robots and now autonomous aerial delivery near me. Flytrex, which operates with FAA-certified safety standards, focuses on enhancing quality of life through innovation in autonomous logistics.

Noam Bardin, Executive Chairman of Flytrex, stated that autonomous drones are the future of food delivery, and that Flytrex has already delivered over 200,000 meals to suburban households in the past three years. Drone delivery has the potential to significantly reduce delivery times, lower costs, and cut emissions compared to traditional methods. In the future, everything from dinner to daily essentials could arrive in minutes, not hours.

As part of the relationship, Uber is making its first investment in drone technology with Flytrex to accelerate the development and deployment of informed delivery technology. Integrating Flytrex's BVLOS-certified drones with Uber's platform will unlock faster, safer, and more cost-efficient last-mile logistics at scale.

The new service, expected to begin with Uber Eats pilot markets in the U.S. by the end of the year, combines Flytrex's autonomous drone delivery system with Uber's global platform and logistics expertise. Uber Eats will first connect the drone delivery service with Flytrex in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Fayetteville, Arkansas, before the end of the year.

Flytrex operates in multiple U.S. states and continues to expand its footprint. The company's drones can reliably and safely share the skies with manned aircraft. Flytrex transforms last-mile logistics for suburban communities with affordable, scalable access to aerial delivery.
