UCX London 2025: AI and Cybersecurity Drive Unified Communications
UCX London 2025, a two-day conference exploring the latest trends in Unified Communications (UC), concluded recently. The event highlighted the growing importance of AI and cybersecurity, particularly in the context of remote work and the return to office (RTO).
AI was a dominant theme, with 28 sessions dedicated to exploring its potential. Chris J de Souza from CGI discussed the role of AI in the Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) landscape, stressing that successful AI deployment should complement human agents. Ally Ward from Norton Rose Fulbright echoed this, emphasizing the importance of understanding user intent as a crucial first step in AI deployment within a Microsoft 365 environment. Microsoft's speaker attribution was praised as an example of bridging the hybrid divide in AI deployment.
Cybersecurity was another major interest at the conference. Nasser Arif from London North West Healthcare NHS Trust emphasized the importance of building a strong security culture to reduce risks on UC platforms. Neil Fluester from Logitech noted a trend towards RTO and the need for AI usage monitoring among remote employees. The conference featured keynotes, panels, and interactive sessions on topics like Microsoft Copilot, AI agents, future-ready UC stacks, and mobile-first collaboration strategies. Siemens was the main exhibitor at the event.
Nikki Powell from Capita Public Service discussed the future of workspaces and the role of AI in automating tasks while maintaining human support.
UCX London 2025 underscored the significance of AI and cybersecurity in shaping the future of UC. As remote work continues to evolve, so too will the need for robust AI deployment and security measures. The conference served as a valuable platform for industry experts to share insights and discuss best practices, setting the stage for future advancements in the UC sphere.
