Ukraine to Get Affordable Long-Range Drones from MGI Engineering in Weeks
MGI Engineering, led by former Formula One engineer Mike Gascoyne, is set to provide Ukraine with affordable, long-range attack drones in the coming weeks. The company aims to offer cost-effective alternatives to expensive imported missiles, supporting both Ukrainian and NATO needs.
The SkyShark drones, priced at around $67 thousand each, will have a range of approximately 250 km and a top speed of 450 km/h. They are designed to carry a 10-20 kg warload and use onboard target-acquisition guidance to locate and strike selected targets. MGI Engineering plans to deploy these suicide drones to Ukraine within weeks.
In addition to the SkyShark, MGI Engineering is also developing the Tiger Shark, a heavier long-range strike drone intended for longer missions. This drone is expected to be priced under £400k ($538 thousand). While the company aims to support Ukraine, no Ukraine-based partners have been named in the available information regarding the production of these drones.
MGI Engineering's SkyShark and Tiger Shark drones offer a more affordable solution for long-range strikes, with the SkyShark set to arrive in Ukraine within weeks. These drones, priced significantly lower than traditional missiles, could provide a valuable asset to Ukrainian and NATO forces.
