In a groundbreaking ceremony, the Peabody Design Argentina Award recognised three exceptional projects that are set to transform various aspects of our lives. The winners, Pastry Sleeves, OFF, and Vapora, showcase innovative solutions in the fields of pastry tools, mobile device usage control, and interior climate control, respectively.

Paloma Vázquez's Pastry Sleeves aims to revolutionise the way pastry chefs work by offering a reusable alternative to traditional disposable sleeves. The innovative design promises easy refills, simple cleaning, and a modern aesthetic, making it a great innovation as a tool for pastry chefs to help combat the fatigue caused by using traditional sleeves for hours.

Ignacio Luquez's OFF offers a unique solution to the growing concern over excessive mobile device usage. The physical device limits cell phone functions via a local network, without the need for apps, activated voluntarily via QR code. OFF promises progressive and adaptive restriction options, using AI to disconnect devices when necessary, providing users with the control they need to manage their screen time effectively.

Vapora, created by Ignacio Ballardini, Yago Beghin, Facundo Imoda, and Manuel Nuñez, offers a passive ceramic air conditioner that reduces ambient temperature by up to 4°C with lower energy consumption than conventional systems. The main innovation of Vapora lies in its ability to condition environments passively, without consuming electricity, making it an eco-friendly solution for interior climate control.

The Peabody Design Argentina Award's 3rd edition invited participants to anticipate changes in housing, incorporate artificial intelligence, and propose solutions to the environmental crisis. The creators of Vapora used AI to "break creative block" but emphasise that "design must maintain a strong human component".

The jury selected three winners from a pool of impressive entries. The Pastry Sleeves project, OFF, and Vapora each demonstrate a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and user-centric design, making them worthy recipients of the Peabody Design Argentina Award.

While the Pastry Bag, created by Paloma Vázquez, is a conceptual work, there's still material development to be done. The project rethinks the most faithful tool of pastry in something that is not disposable, promising to transform the way we interact with pastry in the future.

Production feasibility was a challenge for Vapora due to the artisanal nature of ceramics. However, the team's innovative approach and commitment to sustainability have resulted in a groundbreaking solution that sets a new standard for interior climate control.

In conclusion, the Peabody Design Argentina Award has once again highlighted the power of design to address pressing issues and improve our lives. The winners' innovative solutions demonstrate the potential for design to transform various aspects of our daily lives, from the way we interact with pastry to how we manage our mobile device usage and control our interior environments.
