Updated Outlook lessens initial disdain experienced by user

Hey there! Check out the awesome updates Microsoft has made to their Outlook app! If you've got the latest version and a Microsoft 365 subscription, you can access Copilot Pro or use AI credits.

Here's what's new:

  1. Email Coaching with Copilot: Need help perfecting your emails? Copilot can suggest improvements to the tone, clarity, and reader sentiment of your messages before you hit send.
  2. Multi-Account Support: Say goodbye to logging in and out! Copilot features are now available across all connected email accounts when you're logged into Outlook on the same device, including Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com, MSN.com, Gmail, Yahoo, and iCloud.
  3. Summarization and Review: Tired of reading through lengthy attachments? Copilot can quickly summarize Word, PowerPoint, or PDF files right in Outlook.
  4. Control and Customization: Want to disable Copilot or customize its features? Easy peasy! You can manage all that through the Outlook Copilot control page.

As for the app updates, there's plenty to be excited about! You can now:

  • Reply and forward emails in a .pst file (Outlook Data File)
  • Move emails between accounts
  • Search for folders while offline
  • Use offline "Days of email to save" expanded to 30 days
  • Perform offline search folders
  • Undo send while offline
  • Add shared folders to Favorites
  • Identify external contacts more easily with an "External" tag

If you're not a fan of Copilot, don't worry—you can easily disable it. However, that's not going to impress those of us who long for the native performance of the old Mail & Calendar app. I mean, come on, Microsoft! Give us back our beloved app!

  1. The Windows 10 PC or Xbox, alongside other devices, can host the updated Outlook app that Microsoft has recently enhanced, offering features like Email Coaching with Copilot.
  2. For users of Microsoft 365 subscription, not only can they access Copilot Pro or utilize AI credits within the Outlook app, but they can also enjoy the benefits of using the improved app on their PC.
  3. If you've upgraded to Windows 11, you'll find that the Outlook app's performance is smoother and more intuitive, thanks to the latest updates from Microsoft.
  4. Microsoft has improved email handling within the Outlook app by allowing users to reply and forward emails from a .pst file (Outlook Data File) and move emails between accounts.
  5. For offline use, the Outlook app on your PC now includes search for folders while offline, expanded offline "Days of email to save" to 30 days, offline search folders, and even the ability to undo send while offline.
  6. Lastly, the updated Outlook app enhances the identification of external contacts, adding an "External" tag alongside the technology that allows users to add shared folders to Favorites more conveniently.
