Upgraded Interpark Biscuit 3G E-Reader Launched
Check out the latest entrant in the e-reader market—the Interpark Biscuit! This cool new device shares some resemblance with the Amazon Kindle 2 and Kindle DX, but it's got a distinctive twist. Instead of the usual edge-placed navigation buttons, the Biscuit's core controls are neatly tucked below its display for a unique user experience.
Another exciting feature is its built-in 3G connectivity, allowing for easy downloads of eBooks and newspapers on the go.
The Biscuit boasts a 6-inch E Ink display with an 8-level grayscale capability—perfect for reducing eye strain while reading. It comes with a comfortable 2GB of internal storage and can last up to 9,000 page-turns on a single charge.
So, what can the Biscuit handle in terms of file formats? You'll be able to read industry standards like epub, PDF, MS Office documents (including doc, docx, ppt, pptx, xls, xlsx), hwp, TXT, images (bmp, jpg, png, gif), and even MP3 files!
Though Interpark's online bookstore may be relatively small at 25,000 titles, you can still grab this device in Korea for around $350.00. If the Biscuit proves successful in Korea, it could help expand the e-book market in the region. Competition is heating up with other companies like Cowon and i-Station preparing their own e-book devices.
