Uzbekistan Enhances Digital Banking System with Customized Insurance Offerings

In a strategic move to broaden its product offerings and strengthen its position in the digital banking ecosystem of Central Asia, TBC Uzbekistan has launched a new insurance product called 'TBC Insurance'. This fully digital insurance service, integrated into the TBC Uzbekistan banking ecosystem, officially rolled out in July 2025 after a soft launch in April 2025, following the acquisition of a life insurance license from the National Agency of Perspective Projects of Uzbekistan in March 2025.

Since its launch, TBC Insurance has delivered over 140,000 policies, indicating strong consumer demand. The company's growth has been significant, with a registered user base that now exceeds 50% of the country's population and year-on-year growth that saw revenue and the loan book double in Q1 2025.

### Expanding the Product Suite

The introduction of TBC Insurance is part of TBC Uzbekistan's broader digital ecosystem strategy. Over the past year, TBC Uzbekistan has launched multiple financial products including Salom debit cards, Osmon credit cards, as well as SME banking and lending services, strengthening synergies across its ecosystem.

Currently, TBC Insurance offers credit life insurance as its initial product. The company plans to expand the portfolio to include a full suite of personal insurance products, such as health insurance, property insurance, and business insurance. The insurance service is fully digital and accessible via the TBC UZ mobile banking app, providing a seamless user experience for customers to access, compare, and purchase insurance coverage online.

### Expert Leadership

The insurance arm is led by Ekaterina Lotuashvili, a seasoned insurance executive with 25 years of experience spanning the UK and Georgia. Her background includes significant roles at Lloyd’s of London, the world's leading insurance marketplace, bringing expert leadership to TBC Insurance.

### Deepening Customer Engagement

According to Nika Kurdiani, CEO of TBC Uzbekistan, launching TBC Insurance is a natural extension of the company's financial services. The move aims to deepen customer engagement and strengthen trust within its digital-first financial ecosystem by complementing existing banking and lending products.

In summary, TBC Insurance represents a strategic and rapid expansion of TBC Uzbekistan’s digital financial ecosystem, focusing on innovation, customer experience, and broadening its product suite to capture growing insurance demand in Uzbekistan.

TBC Insurance's growth, with a registered user base exceeding 50% of the country's population, signifies a strong demand for digital financial services. As part of TBC Uzbekistan's strategic expansion, the company plans to expand the insurance portfolio beyond credit life insurance, integrating health insurance, property insurance, and business insurance into the digital ecosystem.

Led by Ekaterina Lotuashvili, a seasoned insurance executive with extensive experience, TBC Insurance aims to deepen customer engagement and strengthen trust within the digital-first financial ecosystem by offering a full suite of personal and business insurance products.
