virtual auditions for Galaxy Corporation's digitally generated K-Pop band commenced
In a revolutionary move for the music industry, GALAXY Corporation, an AI Enter-tech company and G-DRAGON's label, recently hosted the first global virtual artist audition at the iconic El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. The goal of this audition was to select performers for a virtual K-pop group, with avatars powered by their voices, movements, and personalities.
The audition drew over 100 pre-selected participants from around the world, each vying for a chance to become an "eternal artist" and offer lasting inspiration to music lovers worldwide. GK, from GALAXY Corporation, stated that the entertainment industry changes, and they have to adapt.
Contestants were escorted backstage where cameras were set up to capture their performance. The floor was marked with bright tape, indicating where contestants would stand to allow the technology to work seamlessly. Each round saw dancers, rappers, and singers delivering covers of songs from various artists, ranging from Justin Bieber to NewJeans.
GK, who originated the idea for the virtual group along with his team at GALAXY Corporation, believes that true music comes from the performer, not from technology or language. He mentioned that the company is still working out their vision for the virtual group and the identity of the performers, but the future plans are limitless and will extend to other continents.
The audition process was similar to that of virtual artists like PLAVE and MAVE, utilizing advanced AI technology. However, unlike other companies whose virtual groups were chosen internally, this audition was the first of its kind to have open auditions for a virtual group.
GALAXY Corporation plans to travel to more cities worldwide to hold more auditions. The finalists from each city will advance in GALAXY's debut campaign, and then be selected from among them. There are no age, weight, height, looks, or gender restrictions for the audition, making it an opportunity for anyone with talent and passion to shine.
Some contestants who participated in the auditions have the looks and talent to be idols. Although the search results do not provide specific names of the potential finalists from the international auditions of GALAXY Corporation, it is clear that the future of virtual K-pop is bright and full of possibilities.
