Volvo introduces an updated XC60 model in India, priced initially at ₹71.90 lakh
The Volvo XC60 Facelift, priced at ₹71.90 lakh, has made its debut in India, bringing a host of updates to the premium mid-size SUV.
Design Updates
The exterior of the XC60 Facelift sports a new front grille with diagonal slats, similar to the XC90, redesigned front bumpers, and air intakes. It also boasts fresh dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels and smoked-out LED tail lights without chrome accents. Two new colors, Mulberry Red and Forest Lake, have been added to the palette.
Inside, the overall design remains familiar but now includes more luxury features like Nappa leather and genuine wood trim.
Interior Upgrades
The facelifted XC60 includes massaging front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a Bowers & Wilkins audio system. The infotainment system has been upgraded to a new 11.2-inch touchscreen, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Platform. It also features a 12.3-inch digital driver display and Google services integration.
Technology Enhancements
The updated infotainment system supports OTA updates, and the safety suite includes Level 2 ADAS features like adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring. The XC60 Facelift also includes a 360-degree camera, four-zone climate control, and a wireless phone charger.
Performance
The XC60 retains the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system, producing 250 bhp and 360 Nm of torque. It uses an eight-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive (AWD).
Competition in the Premium Mid-Size SUV Segment
The XC60 Facelift will compete with the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Lexus NX 300h in India's premium mid-size SUV space.
- The BMW X3 offers a more aggressive exterior design with a prominent front grille and LED headlights. Its interior includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a new iDrive infotainment system. - The Lexus NX 300h is known for its sleek and sharp exterior design with LED headlights and a spacious interior. Its interior features a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and leather upholstery. It is powered by a 2.5-liter petrol hybrid engine, offering a unique blend of performance and efficiency.
In comparison, the Volvo XC60 Facelift offers strong safety features, a luxurious interior, and cutting-edge technology, positioning it as a premium choice in the mid-size SUV segment in India. However, it competes closely with the BMW X3 in terms of price and features, while the Lexus NX 300h offers a distinct hybrid option. The Mercedes-Benz GLC remains a slightly more affordable alternative with a focus on luxury and performance.
The XC60 is assembled at the Bengaluru plant in India. The upcoming Volvo XC60 Facelift is expected to be priced between ₹ 72.50 - 74 Lakhs. The interior of the facelifted XC60 features a 1410-watt Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 15 speakers. The XC60 facelift can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.9 seconds.
All Volvo cars currently on sale in India are Completely Knocked-Down (CKD) units. The facelifted XC60 sports redesigned alloy wheels and new taillights at the rear without chrome elements. Over 2.7 million units of the XC60 have been sold globally. The facelifted XC60 does not repeat earlier mentioned facts.
