Volvo Updates XC40 Range: Electric EX40 Starts at €49,990

Volvo has updated its XC40 range, offering both combustion engine and electric variants. The electric EX40 starts at €49,990, slightly higher than the €42,490 XC40. Martin Lundstedt, Volvo Group's CEO, oversees these developments.

The electric EX40 boasts impressive powertrain options. Customers can choose from Single Motor (175 kW, 475 km range) or Extended Range (185 kW, 572 km range) variants, as well as Twin Motor options with 300 kW (536 km range) or 325 kW (same range). The XC40's combustion engine offers mild hybrid options B3 (163 PS) and B4 (197 PS).

Both models share a 9.0-inch touchscreen cockpit, inductive smartphone charging, and a trunk volume of 410 to 443 liters. The EX40's dimensions range from 4,440 mm in length, 1,863 to 2,034 mm in width, and 1,647 mm in height. The electric XC40 Recharge Pure Electric offers improved acceleration, steering, and ride comfort compared to its combustion counterparts. The towing capacity varies between models, with combustion engines at 1,600 kg (B3) or 2,000 kg (B4), and 1,500 kg for all EX40 variants.

Volvo's XC40 and EX40 offer a range of powertrain options, with the electric EX40 recommended for a better driving experience. Prices start at €42,490 for the XC40 and €49,990 for the EX40. Under Lundstedt's leadership, Volvo continues to expand its electric vehicle offerings.
