WETEX 2022 Concludes: Dubai's Sustainability Showcase Explores EV, Renewables, and Efficiency
Dubai's Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) concluded recently, bringing together local and international experts to discuss crucial sustainability topics. The three-day event, organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, focused on key areas such as electric vehicle infrastructure, renewable energy pathways, and industrial efficiency.
WETEX 2022 featured 37 insightful seminars, highlighting innovations in water management like smart quality control systems and energy-efficient wastewater treatment. The event also delved into technology discussions, covering AI in IT and safety, predictive solar panel maintenance, robotics, and novel recycling methods. Interactive workshops and networking opportunities were provided to foster partnerships and promote sustainable practices. Health and safety were prominent topics, with sessions on DEWA's wellness initiatives, occupational safety, and AI-driven construction site safety solutions.
The exhibition aimed to support the UAE's ambitions for a circular economy and net-zero future. By exploring decarbonisation strategies and industrial efficiency, WETEX 2022 served as a significant platform for discussing and implementing sustainable solutions.
