Will the Google Pixel Watch 3 undergo a price decrease upon the arrival of the Pixel Watch 4?

In the world of tech, the anticipation for the latest devices is always high, and Google's upcoming Pixel Watch 4 is no exception. Scheduled for an official unveiling on August 20th, the newest addition to Google's smartwatch family promises exciting updates and improvements.

Rumours suggest that the Pixel Watch 4 might boast a bigger battery, thanks to a slight increase in thickness. The watch is also expected to retain the same price tag as its predecessor, starting at $349 for the 41mm version and $399 for the 45mm watch.

As for the Pixel Watch 3, its temporary price drops during sales events like Prime Day indicate a potential long-term value for the device. The watch, known for its incredibly sleek design and Wear OS smarts, has been a strong contender in the Android smartwatch market. During the 2025 Prime Day event, the Pixel Watch 3 dropped to $249.99, and open-box units were available for as low as about $217.

However, these price reductions are currently promotional deals tied to Prime Day or similar sales events rather than a permanent price cut. There is no clear indication that a permanent price drop will occur following the release of the Pixel Watch 4.

When a successor like the Pixel Watch 4 launches, the predecessor model may see price reductions over time, but based on the recent market behaviour and information from July 2025, any substantial price decline for the Pixel Watch 3 is still deal-driven rather than a new permanent price level.

The Pixel Watch 4 is rumoured to feature UI updates based on Material 3 Expressive, run on Wear OS 6, and use the same Snapdragon chipset as the Pixel Watch 3. It may also have a teardrop-inspired design similar to its predecessor, with smaller bezels for a more streamlined look.

With the next Made by Google announcement event scheduled for August 20th, preorder deals for the Google Pixel Watch 4 are expected to go live once it is revealed. Whether the Pixel Watch 3 will see a permanent price drop after the Pixel Watch 4's release remains to be seen. For now, smartwatch enthusiasts can enjoy the current deals on the Pixel Watch 3 during major sales events like Black Friday and back-to-school sales.

Smart-home devices can be synced with the Google Pixel Watch 3 and 4 thanks to their Wear OS platform, allowing users to control various gadgets within their home. With advancements in technology, it's anticipated that the latest smart-home devices would be compatible with the upcoming Pixel Watch 4, offering expanded functionality.
