Worldline & YeePay Team Up to Revolutionize Cross-Border Travel Payments
Worldline and YeePay have joined forces to revolutionize cross-border payments in the travel industry. The strategic partnership, signed recently, aims to simplify payment processes, accelerate settlement, and ensure full compliance with both Chinese and European regulations. This marks a significant milestone for the sector, opening doors to broader cooperation across the travel industry.
The market potential for this partnership is substantial. Cross-border tourism in China has already rebounded to 80 per cent of pre-pandemic levels and continues to rise. The companies will offer a comprehensive one-stop payment solution, enabling seamless cross-border transactions for international carriers operating in China and Chinese airlines expanding their global presence.
The partnership combines Worldline's extensive global acquiring network and leadership in European aviation payments with YeePay's deep expertise in China's travel payment ecosystem. Biljana Bosnjak, VP Travel & Hospitality at Worldline, sees this as an important step in strengthening Worldline's footprint in the Chinese market. Meanwhile, Yu Chen, Co-founder of YeePay, views the partnership as an opportunity to extend YeePay's capabilities and support both Chinese and international carriers with faster, safer, and more efficient transactions.
The partnership provides a cross-border payments solution, allowing Chinese carriers to reach international markets and international airlines to access China with ease. Backed by Worldline's global network and YeePay's local know-how, travellers will be able to pay using their preferred methods, reducing friction and supporting the growth of cross-border air travel.
