Xiaomi's latest flagship, the Xiaomi 17, has sparked debate with claims of superior battery life to the iPhone 17. However, independent tests paint a more nuanced picture.
Initially, a Xiaomi video suggested the Xiaomi 17's battery outlasted an iPhone 17 with a power bank. Yet, a test by 'Techdroider' found the Xiaomi 17 lasted only five minutes longer without a power bank. Independent tests measured the Xiaomi 17's battery life at 10:36 hours, compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max's 8:23 hours. Despite the difference, Xiaomi's promotion of its battery life began as early as late September.
The Xiaomi 17's battery performance is impressive, but the direct comparison with Apple is not as stark as Xiaomi suggested. Moreover, the device experienced heat issues during testing, making camera use impossible.
